NOKESVILLE, Va. (Local News Wire) — A 28-year-old motorcyclist was killed Monday evening in a three-vehicle crash on Aden Road.
According to the Prince William County Police Department, officers responded to the scene near Parkgate Drive around 5:15 p.m. on August 11.
Police said a 2012 Mazda 5 driver was making a left turn from southbound Parkgate Drive onto eastbound Aden Road when it collided with a 2015 Honda CRF250L motorcycle.
The motorcycle operator, identified as Austin Matthew Dungan of Bealeton, crossed the center line, subsequently crashing head-on into a 2020 Jeep Wrangler traveling in the opposite direction.
Both the motorcycle and the Jeep went off the roadway following the impact.
Dungan was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The 43-year-old Jeep driver and her 15-year-old passenger, both from Nokesville, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were also taken to the hospital.
The drivers of the Mazda, identified as 18-year-old Luke Alexander Altman of Fairfax, were uninjured and remained at the scene.
Altman has been charged with reckless driving for failing to yield the right of way.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
