Motorcyclist Killed in Madera County Collision
MADERA COUNTY, CA — An 86-year-old motorcyclist died in a crash involving a vehicle on State Route 41 at 8:01 p.m. on June 19, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist was traveling northbound when a 19-year-old driver from Fresno, operating a 2011 Mercedes E350, attempted a U-turn after pulling onto the right shoulder. The driver did not see the motorcycle approaching behind him, leading to a collision with the left side of the Mercedes.
Emergency responders transported the motorcyclist to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, where he succumbed to his injuries. Both the motorcyclist and the driver were wearing helmets and seatbelts, respectively. Authorities do not suspect alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
The California Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the incident. Lane closures were reported during the emergency response and investigation.
