BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – A motorcyclist suffered injuries after colliding with a bear on East Lamar Alexander Parkway Friday evening.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), the 69-year-old woman from Maryland lost control of her motorcycle while traveling in the 6100 block and skidded to a stop in the roadway.
THP reported that a witness indicated the motorcycle struck a bear, which fled the scene after the collision. The motorcyclist was injured; however, the extent of her injuries remains unknown.
Emergency services responded to the incident, but no further details on lane closures or investigations have been released as of now.
