JAMESTOWN, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A motorcycle crash injured a 24-year-old man in Jamestown on Friday, September 26, at 5:55 p.m.
The incident occurred at the intersection of 8th Ave NE and 13th St NE, involving a motorcycle and a pickup, according to Jamestown Police.
Authorities reported that a North Dakota Highway Patrol Trooper was the first to arrive on the scene, providing aid to the injured motorcyclist, who was later transported to a local hospital and subsequently transferred to a Fargo facility for further treatment.
Preliminary investigations indicate the pickup, driven by a juvenile from Jamestown, was traveling south on 8th Ave NE before entering the intersection after stopping at a stop sign. The motorcycle was headed west on 13th St NE when the vehicles collided.
Police confirmed the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The pickup driver reported not seeing the motorcycle and believed it was safe to proceed.
The driver of the Ford Ranger has been cited for failure to yield after stopping.
