TOWN OF ONEONTA, N.Y. (WBNG) — A motorcycle crash on County Highway 48 resulted in the death of a 25-year-old man on July 31, according to the New York State Police.
At approximately 7:40 p.m., troopers responded to an accident involving two vehicles and a deer in the town of Oneonta.
Authorities reported that Nathaniel T. Walker was killed after a deer, struck by a westbound vehicle, was propelled into his lane and struck his motorcycle.
The 74-year-old driver of the car was traveling west when he hit the deer, which then crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with Walker.
Emergency dispatchers provided lifesaving instructions to the driver prior to the arrival of emergency services. Despite efforts, Walker was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing, but authorities have indicated no foul play or impairment is suspected.
