Motorcyclist Killed in Traffic Crash on I-15 South of Cajon Pass Switchbacks
Cajon Pass, CA – A motorcyclist was pronounced dead following a collision on southbound Interstate 15 near the Cajon Pass switchbacks at approximately 1 p.m. on August 7, 2026, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Initial reports indicated a motorcycle down in the slow lane, alongside a water truck parked on the shoulder. Witnesses reported that a car swerved to evade a prior traffic incident, prompting the motorcyclist to also swerve, which resulted in a crash with a truck.
CHP officers and firefighters arrived shortly after the incident was reported. The motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene, and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Coroner was dispatched to manage the aftermath.
