CASPER, Wyo. – A 37-year-old Colorado man was killed in a motorcycle accident on U.S. 26 near Guernsey Saturday afternoon.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 4:04 p.m. when Ryan Pool was riding a KTM 390 Adventure westbound. As he navigated a right-hand curve, the motorcycle’s front wheel wobbled, resulting in Pool being ejected from the bike.
Both the motorcycle and the rider slid into the eastbound lane, with the motorcycle coming to rest near the center. Authorities reported that a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 attempted to avoid the collision but struck Pool with its right-side wheels.
Pool was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and weather conditions were dry and clear. Preliminary findings suggest equipment failure may have contributed to the incident.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Further information may be released as the investigation unfolds, and details are subject to change.
