COLUMBIA, Md. (WBFF) — A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a transit bus on Route 32 late Saturday night, Howard County Police reported.
The incident occurred around 10:39 p.m. on July 8, involving a 2024 Suzuki GSX1300 traveling eastbound on Route 32, near Route 29.
According to authorities, the motorcycle attempted to pass the eastbound bus, colliding with its passenger side, which caused the rider to lose control and leave the roadway.
The operator of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene; the bus driver sustained no injuries and remained on-site.
Authorities indicated that speed may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing, and Route 32 eastbound was closed for approximately four and a half hours for the incident response.
