BYRON, Ga. (WGXA) — A motorcycle accident in Byron on Sunday afternoon resulted in the death of a 38-year-old man, authorities confirmed.
According to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), the incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Georgia Highway 49 near Spooner Drive. A Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling east was struck on its right side by a Toyota Corolla turning left onto the highway.
Peach County Coroner Kerry Rooks identified the deceased as Antonio Wooten, who was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday, May 28.
Authorities reported that the driver of the Corolla sustained minor injuries and did not require transport to a hospital.
The GSP is conducting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
