NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. — A 21-year-old Fernandina Beach man died following a motorcycle crash with an unoccupied SUV on S. Fletcher Avenue Thursday night.
The collision occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of S. Fletcher and Askins Avenues, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The SUV was parked at an angle in the northbound lane while the driver was unhitching a trailer.
Authorities reported that the motorcyclist struck the left side of the SUV. Emergency response teams attended the scene.
The incident remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. No further information was immediately available regarding additional injuries or road conditions.
