LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. — A motorcyclist died Wednesday evening after a collision with a truck on the ramp connecting eastbound Interstate 470 and Pryor Road.
According to the Lee’s Summit Police Department, officers responded to the scene shortly after 6 p.m. The motorcyclist, identified as 34-year-old Edward M. Strickland of Kansas City, was travelling eastbound on the exit ramp when he struck the rear of an eastbound truck.
Strickland was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries and later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the truck was uninjured.
Authorities stated that an investigation into the incident is ongoing. Further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
