A motorcycle crash on Route 440 north in Middlesex County left one man seriously injured on Thursday afternoon.
According to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, the incident occurred at approximately 4:25 p.m. A Harley-Davidson motorcycle, operated by a 33-year-old man from South Amboy, was traveling north on the right shoulder while a Ford van was positioned ahead in the right lane.
Near milepost 1.2, the van moved into the right shoulder, resulting in a collision with the motorcycle. The impact caused the motorcycle to overturn, ejecting the rider, who sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. No other injuries were reported.
The crash is currently under investigation, and authorities stated that further information will be released as it becomes available.
