Serious Motorcycle Crash Near Joplin Leaves Rider in Critical Condition
NEWTON COUNTY, Mo. (KOAM/KJFX) — A motorcycle accident occurred at approximately 5:35 p.m. on Monday in the 4400 block of Courtney Lane, seriously injuring the rider.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the operator, a 62-year-old man from Joplin, was riding a 2006 Honda Shadow westbound on McClelland Blvd when the motorcycle traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned, ejecting him from the bike.
A Newton County Deputy was first on scene and initiated life-saving measures before Redings Mill Fire and Newton County Ambulance arrived. The injured rider was promptly transported to a nearby hospital.
Chuck’s Towing was on site to remove the motorcycle and debris. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
