Motorcyclist in Serious Condition After Arizona Crash; Wife Rescues Him Thanks to Alert System
A motorcyclist is in a medically induced coma following a crash in Arizona on New River Road on October 31, around 9:00 p.m.
Dustin Hayes, 30, reportedly crashed his motorcycle while trying to avoid an animal, according to his wife, Brooke Hayes. He sustained 20 broken bones, including injuries to his neck and spine, as well as a concussion and brain bleed.
Brooke received an urgent alert from Hayes’ Cardo communication device following the crash. She drove to the last known location, where she found Hayes lying beside his motorcycle, which had flown over a fence.
Emergency responders arrived approximately 10 minutes after Brooke. Authorities confirmed Hayes had been on the ground for over 30 minutes before he was located.
Brooke Hayes has started a GoFundMe campaign to assist with medical expenses, which has raised $9,830 of its $11,000 goal.
As of now, Dustin Hayes remains in critical condition, with updates on his recovery yet to be disclosed.
