Motorcyclist Flown to Hospital After Crash on I-24 in Oak Grove
OAK GROVE, Ky. – A 70-year-old motorcyclist was critically injured and flown to a Nashville hospital following a crash on Interstate 24 Monday afternoon.
According to the Kentucky State Police, the incident occurred at 4:11 p.m. when the motorcyclist, Kendall Smith from Virginia, collided with the rear of an SUV near the Pembroke Oak Grove Road exit.
Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Capt. Payton Rogers confirmed that Smith suffered a broken arm and several other severe injuries. He remained in critical condition as of Tuesday afternoon.
No further details regarding the crash, including the number of vehicles involved or any road closures, have been released. The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.
