A motorcyclist was killed, and two others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 80 in Hercules, Contra Costa County, on Saturday night, August 8, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m., west of Sycamore Avenue. The motorcyclist, a man in his mid-20s from Yuba City, collided with a blue Honda CR-V, resulting in him being ejected from his motorcycle.
The rider was struck by another vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Following the initial collision, nine additional vehicles were involved in a chain-reaction crash, causing minor injuries to two individuals. The identity of the motorcyclist has not yet been released, and the CHP is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
