The incident occurred around 10:32 p.m. as Bautistasoto was riding a Yamaha motorcycle near the rest area entrance. He reportedly collided with the rear of a Honda SUV, causing the motorcycle to fall on its side, which led to him being thrown from the vehicle.
There were four occupants—two women and two men—in the Honda SUV, but none sustained injuries, police reported.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene, and the crash is under investigation by state authorities.
