OMAHA, Neb. —
A 20-year-old motorcyclist died Saturday evening following a crash while allegedly fleeing a traffic stop in Omaha.
According to the Nebraska State Patrol, the incident began at approximately 8:15 p.m. on I-680 near Pacific Street when a trooper initiated a traffic stop. The motorcyclist, identified as Carsyn Storm, accelerated, prompting a pursuit.
The pursuit continued onto I-80, where Storm reportedly reached speeds exceeding 110 miles per hour. After exiting at Giles Road, he re-entered I-80, then exited again heading westbound on I Street.
Authorities said Storm ran a red light at 120th Street and collided with a westbound van. The driver and passenger of the van sustained serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital.
The crash remains under investigation by the Nebraska State Patrol. No further details about the condition of the van occupants are available at this time.
