Motorcycle crash claims life, closes I-10 westbound lanes

SAN ANTONIO – A motorcycle crash on Interstate 10 resulted in one fatality and prompted hours of lane closures, according to San Antonio Police Department (SAPD).
The incident occurred in the westbound lanes near Huebner Road around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
Authorities confirm traffic was halted due to a stalled vehicle blocking three lanes when the motorcyclist allegedly lost control after side-swiping another car.
The rider was ejected and subsequently struck by an 18-wheeler, SAPD reported.
San Antonio Fire Department personnel pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. The identity has not yet been released, pending notification from the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.
All drivers involved remained at the scene and are cooperating with the investigation, SAPD noted.
Westbound lanes of I-10 were closed for several hours but have since reopened.
