WALLA WALLA, Wash. – A 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a high-speed crash on Last Chance Road on April 16 at approximately 6:03 p.m.
According to the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office, the motorcyclist, from Athena, Oregon, struck a power pole, shearing it off at its base. Emergency responders attempted lifesaving measures but the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
Washington State Patrol has been called in to investigate the incident. Authorities stated that speed was a contributing factor; however, it remains unclear if additional circumstances were involved.
The Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office extended condolences to the victim’s family and friends, and thanked local residents who assisted at the scene.
