THE DALLES, Ore. – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving a government vehicle on Interstate 84 near The Dalles on April 14.
According to Oregon State Police, the incident occurred at approximately 11:51 a.m. A motorcycle struck the rear of an Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) vehicle that was stationary in the left lane, protecting a sweeper vehicle.
The motorcyclist, identified as 38-year-old Ryan Christopher King of West Richland, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the ODOT vehicle sustained no injuries.
No additional information about the incident or potential witnesses has been released. Emergency responders and tow services were on-site to manage the situation and clear the roadway.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
