Motorcyclist Dead After Three-Vehicle Crash in Bay County

A 33-year-old Panama City man was killed in a three-vehicle crash on County Road 389 Wednesday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

The crash occurred on July 15, 2026, near the intersection of Cason Drive, involving a motorcycle, an SUV, and a passenger car. According to authorities, the motorcycle struck the rear of a Kia Soul traveling southbound, causing it to enter the northbound lane where it collided with a Chevrolet Tahoe. The motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts by deputies and Bay County Fire Rescue.

The drivers of the Kia Soul and Chevrolet Tahoe, along with a 14-year-old passenger in the Tahoe, were uninjured. The roadway has since reopened.

Investigation Ongoing

The circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. Preliminary findings suggest the motorcycle’s rear-end collision with the Kia Soul initiated the chain of events. Investigators will assess vehicle speeds, following distances, and other factors to determine the exact cause.

Evidence and witness statements will also be analyzed to assist in reconstructing the accident.

Further details, including the identity of the victim, will be released pending notification of next of kin.
