Police Identify Victim of Weekend Motorcycle Crash in Amarillo.

A motorcycle rider critically injured in a crash on South Washington in Amarillo died the following day, police report.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, the accident occurred on Saturday, May 30, at approximately 9:40 p.m. Officers responded to the 4000 block of South Washington, where a motorcycle collided with a passenger vehicle.

Authorities stated that the motorcycle was traveling south when a northbound vehicle turned onto SW 40th Avenue. The rider lost control, laid down the motorcycle, and hit an unrelated vehicle in the turn lane.

The rider was identified as 39-year-old William Bartlett, who sustained life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, June 1.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was uninjured, according to APD. The crash remains under investigation by the Traffic Investigation Unit.
