ELMORE COUNTY, Ala. — Two individuals died following a motorcycle crash on U.S. Highway 231 late Friday night.
According to the Wetumpka Police Department, the wreck occurred at approximately 11:05 p.m. in the 4700 block of U.S. Highway 231. The crash involved a motorcycle.
First responders found 17-year-old Bailee Ward dead at the scene. An additional victim, identified as 18-year-old Aiden Morgan, was transported to a Montgomery hospital with serious injuries but died on Monday.
Southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 231 were closed for about two hours as traffic investigators examined the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, and no additional details have been released at this time.
