Southern Idaho Reports Two Additional Fatal Highway Accidents.

Two Fatal Single-Vehicle Accidents Occur in Idaho Over the Weekend

Two separate single-vehicle accidents resulted in fatalities over the weekend in Idaho, involving a motorcycle and a van.

A fatal motorcycle crash occurred on October 3 in Valley County, near Cascade. Authorities said a 32-year-old man from Meridian lost control of his 2026 Honda CBR650 motorcycle while traveling south on State Highway 55 around mile marker 95, veering off the roadway and descending an embankment into heavy brush near an empty pond. Despite wearing a helmet, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident did not impede traffic, and the Idaho State Police (ISP) is investigating.

On October 4, a rollover accident near Lava Hot Springs resulted in another fatality. According to the ISP, a 2006 Toyota Sienna, carrying two males from Montpelier, was traveling westbound on US30 near mile marker 375 shortly before 7 PM when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The van left the roadway, overcorrected, and overturned. One occupant, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene. The other occupant sustained no injuries requiring medical attention.

Authorities continue to investigate both incidents. More details will be provided as they become available.
