WILMINGTON, DE—A fatal motorcycle crash occurred on February 27 at approximately 3:30 p.m. on DuPont Highway (US 13) near Millside Drive.
A 29-year-old male motorcyclist from New Castle was traveling northbound on a Harley-Davidson when he collided with the rear of a stopped Lexus UX, which was waiting behind a Mitsubishi Mirage in the left turn lane. The impact caused the motorcyclist to be ejected and the Lexus to push into the Mitsubishi.
The motorcyclist was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died. His identity has not been released pending family notification.
DuPont Highway was closed for about three hours to facilitate the preliminary investigation. The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is leading the ongoing investigation.
