Stolen Motorcycle Involved in Fatal Fargo Crash, Authorities Confirm.

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) — A fatal motorcycle crash on August 9, 2025, involved a bike reported stolen just weeks prior, according to officials.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol confirmed a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle at approximately 2:41 p.m. Witnesses reported the motorcyclist failed to stop at a red light, resulting in ejection from the bike.

Authorities identified the deceased rider as 31-year-old Alex Frank. A GoFundMe campaign stated Frank had faced substance abuse challenges but was reportedly on a positive path prior to his death.

Sophia Lundgren, the motorcycle’s owner, stated her Yamaha sport bike was stolen shortly before the crash. “I came out the next morning, and it was completely gone,” she said, noting she filed a police report but received no updates until learning of the accident.

A memorial has been established at the crash site on Broadway near 29th Avenue North, featuring a wooden cross with messages, flowers, and stuffed animals.

Lundgren expressed her condolences for Frank’s family, stating, “The whole situation is just horrible.” She further reported that her insurance denied her claim regarding the stolen bike, leaving her without compensation.

Officials continue to investigate the incident.
