Teen motorcyclist dies in four-vehicle crash on I-85 in Charlotte after speeding cars cause wreck, officials report.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A 17-year-old motorcyclist died following a four-vehicle crash on I-85 South in Charlotte on Saturday night.

The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on July 25, near Sugar Creek Road. According to authorities, a Mercedes and an Audi, both traveling at high speeds, collided with the motorcycle operated by Alex Rodriguez and a Hyundai.

Rodriguez was ejected from his motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Mercedes sustained minor injuries and was transported to Atrium Main, while the Audi and Hyundai drivers declined medical assistance. No other injuries were reported.

I-85 South was closed for several miles as emergency crews responded to the crash. Authorities stated no charges have been filed as the investigation is ongoing, with updates expected soon.
