SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — A 13-year-old boy was hospitalized following two electric motorcycle accidents Friday night near Park City.
According to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, the boy was riding with a friend on Kilby Road near Powderwood Drive at approximately 11 p.m. when their handlebars collided, causing both to lose control and crash.
A passerby assisted the injured boy, while the second boy entered the roadway to retrieve one of the motorcycles. He was struck by a passing box truck, which the driver did not see, reportedly due to a spotlight from the bystander.
The injured boy was transported to a hospital in Salt Lake City. Authorities confirmed that he is expected to survive, according to his family.
No further details regarding the truck driver or additional injuries were immediately available. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
