RONDA, N.C. (WHKY) — A motorcycle crash claimed the life of a Thomasville man on Sunday afternoon along U.S. 421 South in Wilkes County.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. near Clingman Road. A Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling south when it veered off the roadway and struck a guardrail.
The rider, 58-year-old Todd Galloway, sustained critical injuries and succumbed while being transported to a hospital by EMS.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and authorities indicated that speed and impairment do not appear to be factors. The investigation is ongoing.
