PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — Three people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on Farmville Road at approximately 7:10 p.m. on Thursday.
According to Virginia State Police (VSP), a 2014 Ford Explorer was traveling east on Abilene Road when it failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a 2013 Ford F-150. The Explorer then ran off the road, struck a parked 2016 Jeep Compass, and continued into a gas station store.
The driver of the Ford Explorer, Dawson W. Lewis, 20, of Cumberland, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a Richmond hospital. VSP noted he was not wearing a seat belt.
A juvenile passenger in the Explorer also suffered serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital, authorities said.
The driver of the F-150 suffered minor injuries and was also taken to an area hospital.
The incident is under investigation, according to VSP. No further details on lane closures or tow statuses were provided.
