Three people were hospitalized following a motorcycle crash in Osage Beach on Thursday afternoon.
Osage Beach police responded to the incident around 3:15 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 54 and Key Largo. The crash involved two motorcycles and resulted in three patients at the scene.
According to the Osage Beach Police Department, a 56-year-old man from Indianola, Iowa, was operating one motorcycle when he slowed abruptly. Another motorcycle, operated by a 50-year-old man with a 55-year-old female passenger, both from Maple Hill, Kansas, attempted to avoid a collision by changing into the inside lane.
The Iowa motorcyclist then made an abrupt left turn, crossing in front of the Kansas motorcycle, which struck him. Both operators and the passenger were ejected from their motorcycles and transported to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Authorities noted that neither the riders nor the passenger were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
The Osage Beach Police Department is investigating the incident, and further details will be released as they become available.
