Two Killed in Motorcycle Crash on I-29 in Holt County
(HOLT COUNTY, MO) — Two people died in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 29, approximately two miles north of Oregon, on Tuesday morning.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred when a 43-year-old man from Bedford, Iowa, was operating a 2007 Victory Vegas motorcycle northbound with a 45-year-old female passenger from Lincoln, Nebraska. The driver attempted to avoid a deer in the roadway, resulting in the motorcycle overturning onto its left side and ejecting both riders.
Authorities confirmed both the driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene by Holt County Coroner Gene Bradley. The Missouri State Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of crash victims.
Emergency response teams were on the scene, and investigation into the accident is ongoing. There were no reported lane closures.
