Two hospitalized in critical condition after Bridgeport motorcycle crash.

Two Critical Following Motorcycle Crash in Bridgeport

Bridgeport, CT — Two individuals are in critical condition following a motorcycle and SUV collision at the intersection of Iranistan Avenue and Laurel Avenue on Sunday evening.

Emergency crews were dispatched at 6:39 p.m. and initially reported that two individuals, later identified as motorcycle riders, were unresponsive. Bridgeport Police Department Sgt. Darryl Wilson confirmed both men were struck while on a motorcycle. They were transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital, where they are listed in critical but stable condition.

The involved motorcycle, operated by a 36-year-old man from Bridgeport, was carrying a 30-year-old passenger from the same city. The motorcycle was traveling south on Iranistan Avenue when it collided with an SUV driven by a 24-year-old Ansonia resident. The SUV driver sustained no injuries and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation, led by the Bridgeport Police Accident Reconstruction Team.

This incident marks one of several motorcycle accidents over the weekend. Earlier that day, a 45-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries in a Hartford crash involving only his motorcycle, while another motorcyclist was killed in a separate incident on Interstate 91.

In a related incident on Collinsville Road in Farmington, a 67-year-old motorcyclist crashed into a slowing vehicle around 4 p.m. The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained serious head injuries and was airlifted to Hartford Hospital.

The Bridgeport crash remains under investigation. Authorities encourage anyone with information to contact Officer Tien Ngo at 203-576-7640 or via email.
