KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) – Two drivers died Saturday afternoon in a vehicle versus motorcycle collision in Killeen, authorities said.
The victims are a 22-year-old man and an 83-year-old man. The incident occurred at approximately 3:26 p.m. on October 31 at the intersection of North Fort Hood Road and Adams Avenue.
According to the Killeen Police Department, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary investigations suggest the green Honda motorcycle was traveling northbound at a high speed when it collided with a gray Chevrolet pickup truck, which was turning left from Adams Avenue.
The impact ejected the motorcyclist onto the roadway, and the pickup truck subsequently came to rest on the southbound shoulder of North Fort Hood Road.
The 83-year-old driver of the pickup truck was transported to a local medical center in critical condition and later succumbed to his injuries. A 7-year-old passenger in the pickup was taken to a nearby children’s hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities have withheld the identities of both victims pending notification of next of kin. The Killeen Police Department continues to investigate the incident, with no further details available at this time.
