Virginia State Police identify motorcycle driver killed in Concord crash.

Virginia State Police has identified the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash in Concord on August 20.

The collision occurred at approximately 6 p.m. at the intersection of Doss Road and Route 460, claiming the life of 56-year-old Timothy Cartrett from Spout Spring, Virginia. Authorities reported that Cartrett was unable to avoid a Chevrolet Silverado that had pulled out from Doss Road.

The Concord Volunteer Fire Department responded within five minutes of the incident, managing traffic and the scene until further assistance arrived. Nearly two dozen emergency responders from multiple agencies participated in the response.

The driver of the Silverado, Jacob Tolley of Rustburg, has been charged with failure to yield at a stop sign. Investigators are currently looking into the factors that contributed to the crash.

Markey emphasized the need for drivers to remain vigilant at the intersection, advising them to slow down, stop completely, and confirm the roadway is clear before proceeding. The Virginia State Police confirmed the investigation is ongoing.
