THE DALLES, Ore. – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving an Oregon Department of Transportation vehicle on Interstate 84 on April 14.
According to Oregon State Police, the incident occurred at approximately 11:51 a.m. near The Dalles. Troopers responded to a two-vehicle collision where a motorcycle struck the rear of a stationary ODOT vehicle.
Authorities said the ODOT vehicle was parked in the left lane to shield a sweeper vehicle ahead from potential accidents. The motorcyclist, identified as Ryan Christopher King, 38, of West Richland, was pronounced dead at the scene. The operator of the ODOT vehicle was unharmed.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing, and no additional information regarding lane closures or tows has been released.
