Motorcyclist Dies in West Wichita Collision with Truck
A 53-year-old motorcyclist died Thursday afternoon after colliding with a truck in west Wichita, according to police.
The incident occurred at 2:28 p.m. in the 100 block of South Ridge, near Maple Street. Jason Young, of Wichita, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities reported that Young was weaving through traffic on a 1998 Suzuki GSX1300 and struck the rear of a 2004 Dodge Dakota, which was stopped to make a turn. The 22-year-old driver of the truck, a Texas resident, was not injured in the collision.
Emergency response units were dispatched, and an investigation into the crash is underway.
