WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A motorcyclist was killed early Saturday following a crash involving a pickup truck on Southern Boulevard.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 5 a.m. in the 8100 block of Southern Boulevard. A Chevrolet Silverado traveling west struck the motorcycle operated by 33-year-old Eury Abreu Herrera as he merged into the inside lane after leaving a parking garage.
The collision caused Herrera to be ejected from the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the crash.
The Silverado’s driver, who was not injured, brought the vehicle to a controlled stop in the median.
Officials stated that impairment is believed to have contributed to the crash for both drivers. An investigation is ongoing.
