6-Year-Old Dies in Motocross Crash in Mason County, WV
MASON COUNTY, WV — A 6-year-old boy died following a motocross crash at Mason Motocross on Sunday, October 1, around 11:30 a.m.
According to authorities, the incident occurred during practice runs at the track located in Point Pleasant. A medical helicopter was requested, but the child was not stable enough for air transport and was instead taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The scheduled races at Mason Motocross were canceled following the crash, which had been set to start at noon. Officials have not yet disclosed the boy’s identity.
In a statement on social media, Mason Motocross expressed condolences and called for prayers for the boy’s family. No further information about the crash has been made available at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
