COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – A hit-and-run incident involving a motorcycle occurred on the Austin Bluffs bridge over Union, early Saturday afternoon.
The collision took place as a car heading eastbound “clipped” the motorcycle, causing the rider to be thrown from the bike. Authorities said that the driver fled the scene following the crash.
Witnesses provided medical aid to the rider, who was wearing a helmet and is expected to survive despite suffering serious injuries. Emergency Medical Services responded and transported the rider to the hospital.
The Colorado Springs Police Department’s Major Crash Team is investigating the incident. According to officials, drugs, alcohol, and speeding are not suspected factors in the crash.
As of now, no description of the suspect vehicle has been released.
