Motorcycle Accident Claims Life of 24-Year-Old in St. Marys, Kansas
A 24-year-old man, Alfred Llewellyn Phillips, died in a motorcycle accident on K4 Highway near St. Marys on June 2, 2026.
According to authorities, the incident involved one motorcycle, and emergency responders pronounced Phillips dead at the scene. No additional vehicles were involved, and there were no reported injuries to other parties. The K4 Highway experienced lane closures for the investigation, which is ongoing.
Phillips was known for his work at Schwant Tractor in Dover, where he had been employed since 2022. He was passionate about music and car restoration, particularly with Land Rovers, and was actively involved in his local Catholic community.
He is survived by his parents, grandparents, siblings, and a nephew. Funeral services are scheduled for June 9 and 10, 2026, at the Immaculata in St. Marys, with burial to follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. An open house will be held at The Sage Inn in Topeka after the burial.
