Local Man Arrested for DUI After Collision with Motorcyclist in Pocatello

POCATELLO, ID — A man was arrested for driving under the influence after running a red light and colliding with a motorcyclist at 2 p.m. on Monday.

The incident occurred at the intersection of East Benton Street and South Fourth Avenue. According to police, the sedan failed to yield at a red light, resulting in the crash with the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist sustained injuries but declined transport to the hospital. No other injuries were reported. Authorities noted that the sedan’s driver, whose identity has not been released, registered a blood-alcohol level of approximately .09 percent on a breathalyzer test, exceeding Idaho’s legal limit of .08 percent.

The driver was taken into custody and booked at Bannock County Jail on a misdemeanor DUI charge. The crash briefly obstructed traffic at the intersection for about 45 minutes.

An investigation by the Pocatello Police Department is ongoing.
