RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – A 67-year-old Sioux Falls woman died following a motorcycle accident in western Pennington County on Saturday morning.
The incident occurred just after 11 a.m. on South Rochford Road near Seven Hills Road, approximately five miles west of Rochford.
According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, a 72-year-old Sioux Falls man was operating a 2025 CanAm Spyder RT when he failed to negotiate a curve, causing the motorcycle to roll off the roadway.
The passenger, identified as the woman, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported to a Rapid City hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities confirmed that both individuals were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident.
