PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Two motorcyclists sustained serious injuries in a crash late Friday night in Northwest Portland.
The incident occurred at 11:14 p.m. on July 24 near Northwest St. Helens Road and Northwest Front Avenue. Officers from the Portland Police Bureau responded and found both riders down at the scene.
By Saturday morning, the Multnomah County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that one motorcyclist had died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Both riders were transported to a local hospital, where they were listed in critical condition; one suffered life-threatening injuries.
The Portland Police Bureau’s Major Crash Team is conducting an investigation. Northwest St. Helens Road was closed between Northwest Front Avenue and Northwest Balboa Avenue during the inquiry.
