A Thomasville man died Sunday afternoon following a motorcycle crash in Wilkes County, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on U.S. 421 South near Clingman Road.
A Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling south veered off the roadway and collided with a guardrail.
The driver, identified as 58-year-old Todd Calloway, succumbed to his injuries while being transported by EMS to a nearby hospital.
Authorities stated that speed and impairment are not believed to have contributed to the crash.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
