CASPER, Wyo. — A single-vehicle motorcycle crash near Evanston on Saturday, June 14, resulted in one fatality.
According to a Wyoming Highway Patrol preliminary report, Zachary Worthing, 21, was riding a Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on the Interstate 80 service road at milepost 2.4 when the incident occurred just after 4:30 p.m.
Authorities stated that Worthing was negotiating a left curve at a high rate of speed when he left the right side of the roadway, resulting in the crash. He was thrown from the motorcycle but was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Weather conditions were reported as clear and dry.
Speed is cited as a contributing factor in the crash, according to the report.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol is continuing the investigation, and preliminary reports are subject to change as more information becomes available.
