67-year-old motorcyclist dies following a crash on North Collier Boulevard in Marco Island on Friday morning.
MARCO ISLAND, Fla. —
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the incident occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of North Collier Boulevard and East Elkcam Circle.
The FHP reported that the motorcyclist was riding a 2022 Harley-Davidson northbound in the left-turn lane when a 2019 Toyota Tacoma, driven by a 33-year-old man from Naples, was approaching from the opposite direction.
Authorities said the motorcyclist attempted to turn left onto East Elkcam Circle, colliding with the front of the oncoming Tacoma.
The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet and was transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Toyota Tacoma was not injured, and the FHP is conducting an investigation into the crash.
