Man Charged with DUI in Fatal Jefferson City Incident.

Jefferson City Man Charged with DWI After Fatal Crash

JEFFERSON CITY, MO—A Centertown man has been charged with driving while intoxicated following a crash that killed a 67-year-old woman on Friday afternoon.

Damon Crocker, 57, was involved in the incident around 3:34 p.m. outside the Office Bar on West McCarty Street, according to the Jefferson City Police Department. Video footage reportedly shows Crocker reversing his F-150 pickup truck into the woman, rolling over her legs and torso before driving forward with her beneath the vehicle.

Witnesses reported that the woman appeared conscious and alert immediately after the incident but succumbed to her injuries at University Hospital in Columbia approximately two hours later.

Authorities said Crocker confessed to consuming two beers and a shot of liquor before the crash but refused a breathalyzer test on-site, instead requesting an attorney. He was subsequently arrested and taken to the Cole County Jail on no bond.

Court records indicate Crocker later registered a blood alcohol content of 0.099 in a breath test. He has a prior record of four DUIs, with two convictions. Crocker is scheduled to appear in court at 2 p.m. on Monday. The investigation remains ongoing.
