JONES COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A motorcyclist was fatally injured in a head-on collision with a pickup truck on U.S. 258 North Friday morning.
The crash occurred just before 6:30 a.m. when the motorcyclist crossed the centerline, colliding with the truck.
According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist died at the scene, while the pickup driver was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The identity of the deceased has not been released pending family notification. Authorities stated there are currently no expected charges as the investigation continues.
No immediate lane closures were reported during the response.
